After a few days break, we continue with the announcement of songs. This time is it ARMENIA and their 2010 song APRICOT STONE sung by Eva Rivas. CANDY BENSON is doing the Afrikaans cover.

This is the last song on CD 1, song 20. It is the UNITED KINGDOM and there song OOH AAH … JUST A LITTLE BIT originally sung by GINA G.Gospel trio BACK2BASICS covered it in Afrikaans.
EUROVISION 60th CELEBRATION – SONG 19 of 60
Its time for SWEDEN, one of the countries in Eurovision. It is also one of those with many covers in Afrikaans and so it is not so easy to pick something. In the end I decided on the 2001 entry LISTEN TO YOUR HEARTBEAT sung by FRIENDS. There are more than one Afrikaans cover and in the end, KOBUS MULLER in duet with PATRICIA LEWIS, was chosen.

It is time for a classic and what better than ERES TU, the 1973 entry from SPAIN, originally sung by MOCEDADES. We are using the Afrikaans cover of RINA HUGO.

Now it is the turn of RUSSIA. We are using their 2013 song WHAT IF sung by DINA GARIPOVA and in Afrikaans is it being covered by JASMYN who has over 10 euro covers under her belt.

Now we change to ROMANIA and their 2011 entry, CHANCE sung by HOTEL FM. The Afrikaans cover is by PIETER JORDAAN.

Onto a fairly tale and what better than NORWAY’s 2009 entry FAIRY TALE sung by ALEXANDER RYBAK. The Afrikaans cover is done by LEE SCOTT who himself attended Eurovision 2010 in Oslo.

Next up is a real South African classic with around 15 people having covered it. It is the 1984 song IK HOU VAN JOU of Netherlands, originally sung by Maribelle. The song was introduced to South Africa 10 years after its Eurovision duet when Dana Winner covered it. We have picked the first Afrikaans cover done by boy band EDEN in 2001.

The next song is very special. It is time for MACEDONIA and it is their 2014 entry TO THE SKY. The song on the compilation CD is a joint effort from TIJANA (the original singer) and RINEL DAY (the South African singer) and they are doing it in duet.

Latvia picked their 2015 entry last night. On the anniversary compilation, we are using their 2007 song QUESTA NOTTE originally sung by Bonaparti.lv. The Afrikaans cover is by three brothers who go under the name on QUALITRIO.
