The Russian broadcaster, Channel One, has confirmed that it will be taking part in the 2015 Eurovision Song Contest in Vienna. The representative will be the winner of The Voice Russia reality show, although no details have been given as to the song which will be sung.
Russia had been rumoured to withdraw from the Eurovision Song Contest after a Russian MP claimed that Conchita Wurst winning Eurovision was “the end of Europe”. Russia has even revived the Soviet-era Intervision, with competing nations besides Russia including Central Asia countries and even China. Intervision will take place this October.
