Sophia Ivanko (Sophy Ivy) added to her already impressive repertoire of original material today, with the release of a new song ‘Watchdog’
The haunting song, once again showcases Sophia’s unique indie sound first heard on her debut album C.F (Crazy friend).
As with many of the songs on her album, one cannot help but be impressed by the maturity of the songwriting and the topics Sophia chooses to address in her songs:
“The song about how we lock ourselves into a ′′ cage ′′ and cannot get out of it, because our consciousness, as a guard dog makes sure that we do not go beyond our comfort. But the key to the cage is ourselves.”
Just one day after the 2020 Junior Eurovision song contest wrapped up, 2019 Ukraine entrant Sophia Ivanko (Sophy Ivy) has released a version of this years entry ‘Vidkryvai (Open Up).
Sophia presented the jury points for Ukraine in this years contest and could be seen in the green room sitting alongside her friend Olexandr Balabanov.
Produced by Mykhailo Tolmachov the ‘Vidkryvai’ cover very much bears the hallmarks of Sophia’s unique sound which she showcased on her debut album C.F (Crazy Friend) released earlier this year.
