In recent years the Netherlands has not brought promo singles to Eurovision. This year, according to your knowledge, they brought nothing to promote their entry LIGHTS AND SHADOWS by OG3NE.We had seen some promo item that probably was handed out at the AMSTERDAM event. To not have the Netherlands spot in the library stay empty, we had this promo single designed.
Artist thoughts (And Song Announcement) by Amsterdam Eurettefriend (Designed by Carolina Añazgo Leo):
“I’m Amsterdam Eurettefriend and I’m sharing my opinions of how my country chose O’G3NE as Eurostars. I love to talk about it all day… that I can even tell their lives connected to the Eurovision Events:
Where do I start? Oh, I can remember! Lisa, Amy and Shelley were my Eurostars in Junior Eurovision 10 years ago, they grew so fast! So fast as my love of doing videos for my videoblog and I’m always figure it out what topic should I make next (Like how Eurofriend fans should be called, or how some countries win by surprise).
Now that they’re returning to a Eurovision event, I’m making sure that my country can reach top 10 or be in the Esc final and do well! And speaking of the Song contest, many friends are choosing their Eurostars and speaking of how they feel about it! Right now, I’m feeling happy. And I can’t wait for my girls to sing again on stage and they’re ready to share the song with all of us via livestreaming. Do you agree with my country’s stars and song?”- By Amsterdam Eurettefriend
‘Lights and Shadows’ is the name of the song which O’G3NE trio will represent The Netherlands at the Eurovision Song Contest 2017 in Kyiv. It is power ballad – a style that girls are most famous for. The song has been written by Rick Vol – father of sisters, and Rory de Kievit – boyfriend of Shelley.
It seems Rory is part of a band himself.
The song will be presented tomorrow at 11:30 CET in online-stream on Youtube and Facebook. Presentation will be hosted by Jan Smit and Cornald Maas. First live performance will take place at 22:30 CET in Late Night program on RTL.
The girl band O’G3NE will represent the Netherlands at the 2017 Eurovision Song Contest. The group consists of three sisters Lisa (22) and twins Amy and Shelly Vol (21).
The girls actually represented the Netherlands at the 2007 Junior Eurovision Song Contest (as Lisa, Amy & Shelley) with Adem In, Adem Uit. But they have achieved a lot since those days. They won The Voice of Holland in 2014 and have released several singles and albums.
You can see O’G3NE with one of their hits Take The Money And Run below and also see their 2007 Junior Eurovision song.
