SPOTLIGHT ON EUROVISION COMPOSERS – LASSE HOLM & GERT LENGSTRAND
The second in our series of songs by EUROVISION composers – songs that were not their Eurovision entries.
Today it is HENRIK ABERG who is a Swedish singer (probably unknown outside of Sweden) and his song JENNY OCH JAG.
The song has two composers and both are Euro composers:
LASSE HOLM – he is most known as one of the composers of the 1983 Eurovision song of Sweden – Framling of Carola Haggkvist.
GERT LENGSTRAND – he is most know as one of the composers of the 1999 Eurovision song of Sweden and eventual winner that year – Take me to your heaven of Charlotte Nillson.
LARS “DILLE” DIEDRICSON DIED
It is sad that with the final of the Swedish selection happening this weekend, we learn of the death of Lars “Dille” Diedricson. He was born on the 12th of August 1961 and died on the 6th of March 2017 in Gothenburg. He won the Eurovision Song Contest 1999 as the songwriter for “Take Me to Your Heaven” performed by Charlotte Nilsson for Sweden. Patricia Lewis covered it in South Africa and it went double platinum. Lars was so impressed with Patricia’s cover that he produced a CD for her in Stockholm in 2000.
