Alyona Lanskaya has released a new track called Nashe schastye odno na dvoikh (Our happiness is one for two). It is a cool track with an 80s retro feel.
Recently we finished with our Top 100 which were compiled from the top 10’s of 103 people. Now for about 2 weeks, Roy of ESC Covers will do his top 20 of Eurovision songs he would have liked in the top 100 but they did not make it.
On a side note, a big thank you to Carolina of Peru who drew the beautiful Johannesburg Eurofriend, which we use as the featured image.
For the entire month of February, ESC Covers will take every day a South African artist/group/duo on a virtual tour to Europe. We will visit 28 countries.
Today ESC COVERS did a photo shoot with VICTOR BUSH, a young male model wearing different t-shirts we got over the years at the Eurovision song contest. The idea behind this is to make between 30 and 40 short videos just to remind people on a daily basis to enter the COVER2COVER singing competition. The videos were all shot today and now they are edited etc and will be uploaded on the ESC Covers Youtube channel and on a daily basis we will publish one. The first one we did was Victor wearing the 2013 t-shirt from Belarus. He is also holding the promo package CD and a huge box of chocolates we got in Malmo.
ALYONA LANSKAYA, who represented BELARUS in the 2013 Eurovision song contest, has a new song and video out. It is called TY MOY. The song was composed by Max Lorens who himself has tried several times to represent Belarus at Eurovision.
Over 25 days we will reveal our top 50 of the millennium (2000 to 2017). We will do 2 a day.
SOLAYOH – ALYONA LANSKAYA – BELARUS – 2013
POSITION 49 – I LOVE BELARUS – ANASTASIYA VINNIKOVA – 2011
The third song on this anniversary compilation comes from BELARUS and is their 2013 song SOLAYOH performed by Alyona Lankskaya with a backing singer from South Africa, WILLEM BOTHA. Willem had first chance to cover it but turned it down and DUO AFRICA grabbed the opportunity and the song is in Afrikaans and Aruba, a language of Nigeria.
