Mariette returns with ‘The One That Got Away’

Mariette has released her latest single and it is called The One That Got Away. The track is a gentle and sweet ballad.

The One That Got Away is available to stream or purchase via digital stores such as Spotify, Amazon, iTunes and many more.

Mariette has participated four times in the Melodifestivalen selection in Sweden. In 2015 she sang Don’t Stop Believing, 2017 she had A Million Years, 2018 was For You and in 2020 she sang Shout It Out.

Sweden: 2017 Melodifestivalen – semi-final 4 – two more acts to the final

The fourth semi-final of the 2017 Melodifestivalen took place in Skellefteå with two more acts making it directly to the final –

  • Wiktoria – As I Lay Me Down
  • Jon Henrik Fjällgren feat. Aninia – En värld full av strider (Eatneme gusnie jeenh dåaroeh)

The following two acts will take part in the Andra Chansen show next weekend –

  • Axel Schylström – När ingen ser
  • Loreen – Statements

Sweden: Two more acts qualify from third semi-final of 2017 Melodifestivalen

The third semi-final of the 2017 Melodifestivalen in Sweden took place and two more acts automatically went directly to the final –

  • Robin Bengtsson – I Can’t Go On 
  •  Owe Thörnqvist – Boogieman Blues

One interesting fact about Owe is that he is 87 years old.

…and there is a second chance for the following

  • Anton Hagman – Kiss You Goodbye
  • FO&O – Gotta Thing

The second semi-final of the 2017 Melodifestivalen took place in Sweden with seven acts competing and two directly going to the final and two more having a second chance in the Andra Chansen.

  1. Mariette – A Million Years
  2. Roger Pontare – Himmel och hav
  3. Etzia – Up 
  4. Allyawan – Vart haru varit
  5. Dismissed – Hearts Align
  6. Lisa Ajax – I Don’t Give A
  7. Benjamin Ingrosso – Good Lovin’

Lisa Ajax gets in the festive mood with ‘Santa Bring My Baby To Me’

Lisa Ajax will take part in the 2017 Melodifestivalen in Sweden with I Don’t Give A and she also participated in 2016 with My Heart Wants Me Dead. Lisa has just released a song for the festive season of 2016 entitled Santa Bring My Baby To Me. It is a catchy and upbeat song that will get everyone in the party mood.

Lisa was the winner of the 2014 Idol tv show in Sweden. There she proved her versatility as a singer performing different styles of music and showcasing her smooth and clear vocals.

Some facts about 2017 Melodifestivalen

SVT this week announced the 28 acts competing in the 2017 Melodifestivalen semi-finals.

The acts include two former winners of the Eurovision Song Contest, Loreen (2012) and Charlotte Perrelli (1999). Roger Pontare (1994, 2000) and Krista Siegfrids (Finland 2013) also return and we see Lisa Ajax and Robin Bengtsson return from last year.

Legendary songwriter from Sweden, Thomas G:sson has four songs competing.

It looks like a strong line up for 2017.

Sweden: Charlotte Perrelli confirmed for 2017 Melodifestivalen – according to Aftonbladet newspaper

The winner of the 1999 Eurovision Song Contest for Sweden, Charlotte Perrelli (or Charlotte Nilsson as she was known then with Take Me To Your Heaven) will take part in the 2017 Melodifestivalen in Sweden according to the Aftonbladet newspaper in Sweden. Charlotte also participated in the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest with Hero.

18 names were mentioned so far in the Aftonbladet newspaper (although this has be 100% confirmed by SVT). They are –

Les Gordons confirmed as first act for 2017 Melodifestalen in Sweden

The first act confirmed to participate in the 2017 Melodifestivalen in Sweden is the indie rock band Les Gordons. They were selected via the Swedish radio competition Svensktoppen Nästa.

Les Gordons are from Orebro and consist of Jonatan Renström, Albert Björliden, Carl Ragnemyr, Andreas Persson and David Runebjörk.  Whilst we await their Melodifestivalen song in 2017, the band have just released their brand new single entitled Need To Feel and is written by the band themselves.

Sweden Songs are the music publishers for Les Gordons.
