Michela Pace has won X Factor Malta and will therefore represent her country at the 2019 Eurovision Song Contest in Tel Aviv, Israel in May.

Four acts were in the final tonight – Michela Pace, Nicole Frendo, Owen Leuellen and Petra. The show had three rounds. Firstly all the acts did a solo song and for second song they all did a duet. Petra sang with the Overs judge, Ray Mercieca. Owen sang with the Boys mentor, Ira Losco. Nicole duetted with Matthew James Borg (Maltese singer/songwriter). Michela performed with the famous Maltese tenor and opera singer, Joseph Calleja.

After the first those first two songs the voting was halted and it was announced that Petra would be eliminated.

The remaining three acts – Michela, Nicole and Owen then each performed a song in Maltese. The voting was halted again and it was declared that Nicole would be next to be eliminated.

This now meant there would be a straight sing-off between Michela and Owen.

The final vote decided that Michela had won and will take the ticket to Tel Aviv for Malta. She has also won a record deal also.

Michela has really captured the hearts of the public over the last few months and she has showcased her beautiful and soulful vocals with a sweetness and charm all of her own. She is from the Maltese island of Gozo.

The song that she will sing in Israel will be selected at a future date.

Let us look at Michela’s performances tonight on the X Factor Malta. Total Eclipse Of The Heart (Bonnie Tyler), Inti Djamant (The Tramps), Perfect (Ed Sheeran & Andrea Bocelli) and Shallow (Lady Gaga & Bradley Cooper).
