BELARUS IN EUROVISION – 2019

Belarus’ Eurovision broadcaster BTRC has been expelled from the European Broadcasting Union. This rules out a Belarusian participation in Italy 2022 and makes Belarus’ return to the Eurovision Song contest and the Junior Eurovision Song contest extremely unlikely.

Let’s take a look at what Belarus has brought to the Eurovision Song Contest since 2004.
Belarus participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2019. The Belarusian broadcaster National State Television and Radio Company of the Republic of Belarus (BTRC) organized a national final in order to select the Belarusian entry for the 2019 contest.
Artists and composers were able to submit their songs to the broadcaster.
Auditions were held here a jury panel was tasked with selecting up to fifteen entries to proceed to the national final.
The final took place on 7 March 2019 at the 600 Metrov studio in Minsk. The votes of seven jury members made up of music professionals selected the song Like It, performed by ZENA and written by Yulia Kireeva, Viktor Drobysh and Zinaida Kupriyanovich, as the winner.
At the ESC ZENA qualified for the Grand Final where she finished in 24th place.
